Nella vita quotidiana le donne Mursi non indossano lo scomodo piattello tradizionale lasciando penzolare il labbro inferiore. Non è un bello spettacolo? Allora l’obiettivo risulta raggiunto. Sembra, infatti, che il piattello sia stato introdotto per evitare i rapimenti da parte dei mercanti di schiavi che ricercavano donne prive di difetti fisici.

Anche i Mursi amano esibire cicatrici che considerano segno esteriore di coraggio. Dopo che la pelle è stata incisa in profondità le ferite vengono strofinate con abbondante cenere che, trattenuta dai tessuti, favorisce la cicatrizzazione e crea l’effetto a rilievo.

Arredo urbano
Ai baresi, nonostante la sfuocatura, non potrà essere sfuggita la presenza di due bottiglie di “Peroni” in primo piano. La grande diffusione di questa birra e la nota maleducazione di molti concittadini elevano i vuoti quasi al rango di arredo urbano.
